Man accused of stealing from CVS in Westbury, threatening to stab employee

Detectives say Ruben Moya-Zapata walked into the store on Old Country Road, placed items into a basket, and then tried to walk out without paying.

A Westbury man has been arrested after police say he robbed a CVS in Westbury.
Detectives say Ruben Moya-Zapata walked into the store on Old Country Road, placed items into a basket, and then tried to walk out without paying.
News 12 has been told when an employee tried to confront Moya-Zapata, he threatened to stab the worker with a knife.
Officers were able to find and arrest the 36-year-old.
Moya-Zapata is facing robbery and weapon charges and will face a judge later today.
