A man accused of stabbing his aunt to death in her Hempstead home was arraigned and remanded without bail.
Kevin Pratt, 24, was taken into custody shortly after police responded to a home on Harvard Street around 9 p.m. Tuesday.
According to police, Taracker McClendon, 59, was found fatally stabbed.
Neighbors told News 12 Long Island that McClendon had called her daughter to say she was afraid and no longer wanted her nephew in the house.
They say Pratt was having psychological issues, but didn't elaborate. Detectives would only say that police have previously been called to the house for other incidents involving the family.
Pratt was charged with second-degree murder.
