A Syosset man accused of attacking a woman near a restaurant Friday night in East Norwich is facing a slew of criminal charges.

Police say Ibrahim Ali, 25, became involved in a disturbance with the 30-year-old victim at the restaurant on Oyster Bay Road. The situation escalated when he dragged her out of the building and pinned her to the ground.

She managed to break free, then ran back into the restaurant and attempted to call 911. Investigators say Ali followed her, took her cellphone and entered his car.

The woman also entered his vehicle in an attempt to retrieve her phone. He proceeded to drive off on Northern Boulevard.

The victim was able to text police and describe Ali’s possible destination during the drive. New York City Police Department Highway One units eventually found the duo fighting on the side of the road in The Bronx.

Authorities say Ali was arrested without incident. Both sustained minor injuries but refused medical attention at the scene.

The charges against Ali include criminal contempt, criminal mischief, unlawful imprisonment, criminal obstruction of breathing and aggravated criminal contempt.

Editor's note: An earlier version of the web story showed the sign for "Hunter The Restaurant." The incident happened at a different location.
