Students of Malverne High School are calling for a street named after a high ranking Ku Klux Klan leader to be renamed.
Lindner Place is named after Paul Linder, who was the head of the KKK on Long Island in the 1920s.
Ninth grader Olivia Brown says the street serves as a memorial for him and his life isn't something that they want to celebrate.
"That is why we want to make a change because this is not who we are as a school," Brown says. "This is not who we are as a town."
A board meeting on the issue was held Wednesday evening.
People tell News 12 that the sign will be removed by May 1.
