Police say a male in his teens or early 20s was shot several times at a home in Hempstead Thursday afternoon.

Neighbors reported hearing the shots around 3:30 p.m. at the Linden Avenue home. Police say the victim was shot at least four or five times and at least once in the torso and leg.

Authorities say the victim was critically injured and was taken to the hospital. According to a witness, the victim was foaming at the mouth as he was taken away. There is no known suspect or motive in the shooting, police say. They continue to investigate.
