Over the next few months, we'll be dedicating our Mondays to showing off different local communities. I love doing this. Our main street Long Island series is back and our Jed Selig is in Port Jefferson Village this morning. Kicking it all off Port Jeff. What a way to start, Jen. What a way to start Aaron and Rich. You guys like my new shirt, just put it on. We are here at the East End Shirt company and I'm with Joy, the owner here. You guys are celebrating a milestone. Thank you. I'm glad to be here 45 years in business. Yes, we are and excited to be here. Um Excited that um that we're here for our community of people who have grown um because of their families who have come back year after year to come to our shop, bring a little bit of Long Island and Port Jefferson back to where their homeland is. So you have seen this area grown throughout the decades. We definitely have through the, the peaks and the valleys and yes, we're still here and um we see so much growth in Port Jefferson and it's uh it's a wonderful place to visit and be, and live. Very cute town on the north shore, right on the water. I mean, it can't get any better than this. What's the best part about having this business celebrating 45 years here? The best part, um, I have to say, um, the best part is seeing that customer come back year after year, decade after decade and bring their families, bring their, their little ones, um, or, um, families that, that come for a wedding or a holiday. Um, and they come into the shop and bring, like I said, a little bit of what we have here back home with them and we got some early shoppers this morning. I'm pointing out Stephanie here. What are you looking for this morning? How to say a new mug? I really enjoy these, um, ones here. Um, also they make great gifts. I need to get one for my boyfriend. You know, you work in poor Jeff. You're always in this area. What's the best part about it? Oh, I love, um, honestly going for ice cream after with all my friends going by the water, we go see the sunset. It's so great right on Harbor Front Park too. 70. Thank you. So we're gonna check out some other businesses. Stick around here all morning long and send it back to you guys in the studio. Our main street Long Island Series is back this morning. So for the next few months, we are going to be shining a light on local communities across the island. What they bring to Long Island and our Jen Selig is kicking things off this morning in Port Jefferson. Hey, Jen, here is the, hey, there's so much to look at here in Home Kingdom. You got the coffee mugs, picture frames, you name it, it's here, Mary Anne. You make me want to redo my whole home Long Island theme. But most importantly, you opened the business 20 years ago and the theme here is beach nautical. But like it's really important to emphasize, you guys are open all year round, all year round, all year round. We are open. We have the same nautical decor all year round holiday time. We are all decked out for the holidays here with lots of Christmas gifts, but the nautical theme stays all year round. What's the cool part about having your own business? Seeing returning customers, right? Come back every single year. Yeah. And you know, making your own choices, make, doing the buying, picking out items that you think people would love and it's fun. It's fun. We have the hot seller over here. I mean, a life size, well, not life size but a pretty big lighthouse for your home. Yes. No, these are our big seller. These we do, these are all Amish made custom made lighthouses. We do from 2 ft, up to 12 ft. You can even do up to 17 ft. They're available in wood available in poly. You can do a custom colors, custom designs. This happens to be Fire Island and Montauk, which of course is our most popular sellers on the Island rep in Long Island right here in Port Jefferson. So of course, we're going to stick around here in town and uh check out other businesses. Send it back to you guys in the studio. Love to see that another great small business here on Long Island.

Well, over the next few months, we will be dedicating our Mondays to showing off different local communities. Yeah, communities. Maybe you've never been to want to take a walk on their main street. Our main street, Long Island Series is back and our Jen Selig is in Port Jefferson Village this morning, kicking everything off Jen. Where are you? Now? We are in Dorton, the bakery here. It's usually a hot spot on the mornings. I'm with Juliana. You work here. You don't live in Port Jeff, but you told me that you're looking for a place to live here. What makes Port Jeff so special to you, the customers, the vibe everything about Port Jeff. Once you come down here, you don't want to stop coming down here, especially to the bakery. That's for sure. You told me that you have customers that come in literally every day ordering this same thing, every day, every Friday. We have orders. We have customers that come in three times a week. One of our employees has actually been here for over 20 years. So there's some loyal following here in Port Jeff. Sure and keeping it local. I love it look at this and Islanders Cookie, this ones coming home with me, I should bring them to the station too. But overall seeing customers seeing the view right outside the harbor right there. The best part is just being here in the community and learning more about it 100%. And as you said, like being here right across the water when we open, sometimes we see the sunrise coming out late at night, So we close at 8 p.m. So sometimes we get a really good sunset over here. Everything here is honestly perfect and especially at the bakery, we have food, we can eat. It's pretty much a home to all of us. I know it's tricky to work here. I need everything here. And speaking of returning customers, I got my friend, Jack here. We met this morning, Jack, you come here, what, three days a week, usually? No, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. What's why do you keep coming back? He goes a I love the food and B I love the company. Everybody here employees are spectacular and the view is also spectacular and it's romantic largely. It's kind of like poetic. And when I look out and see those big white fairies, I think about Captain Naab and the white Whale and I get kind of carried away. I know it's kind of a, you've been coming here for years. This is a place that you always come to. Let's cheers to that Jack let's cheers to our coffee and to poor Jeff back to you guys in the studio. I think Jack should be a spokesperson for poor Jeff there. Wow. I mean, he just gave it all right there. I want to go. Thanks Jen.

Well, our main street Long Island Series is back for the next few months. We're gonna be shining a light on really the heart of our local communities today. Our Gen Z Lake is in Fort Jefferson. Hundreds of different types of blends of tea here at the spice and tea exchange in Port Jefferson. It smells so good in here and all morning and afternoon. We have been just smelling different types of blends. Which one is this one? This is one of our most popular. This is warm bread pudding, kids. Everybody loves this one. A dessert. It's like a dessert tea. This is great low calorie. Great way to pass on a 400 calorie uh dessert after dinner. No bill, you and your wife, you guys own this business. Now you guys make tea all the time and this is something. If you come into the store, you can watch it be made. Absolutely. So right now we're making Lady Gray creme. You could see we're putting in fresh orange peels that we dehydrated, fresh lemon peels that we dehydrated. The village is a spectacular place. Everybody comes down here. It's a great shopping district. We have so many different options. This is like tea town. We have a lot of tea shops down here. It's, it's a great place to come and spend a, a weekend night and shop and have dinner. So like everybody knows each other. We also spoke with the mayor too to hear how she feels what this village brings to everybody. We have two downtowns with great shops and things to do and see all over town. It's 3.1 square miles, but it's, it packs in a whole lot more than any other village I think on Long Island, we're back inside of another business. This is timber and ties. And with me, I have the owner Melanie. This is your second business opening up in Port Jeff Village and you guys are fairly new. Yes, we just opened in November. So what do you guys have here? So we have, um, we started out in Simple, good. We've been in simple, good for five years and opened up um, a men's store because men are always coming into the women's boutique. I thought what a great option opportunity is to open up a men's store right across what makes this business so special to have it here in the heart of the village. So I grew, I'm native Long Islander. I've lived here my whole life. I've never lived further than 20 minutes from Port Jeff. So it's always been an important town. We've celebrated so many family milestones here. That's great. So we're gonna continue going shopping here. So I'll send everything back to the studio. We're in Port Jeff Village, back to you guys.
