This morning. Our main street Long Island Series continues. We are heading out to highlight some of our great local businesses every Monday. We do it and today we're in Bellmore News 12 Jen Selig is at Bedford Avenue Deli grabbing some breakfast. Good morning, Jen. Hey, good morning, Rich. You know us Long Islanders. We love our bagels, we love our Delis buttered rolls and Hector here. He has a little bit of everything. Good morning Hector. You've been here for 20 years now, obviously you're treating the community well, yes. Uh I am very proud to be a Belmore. Uh more than 20 years business owner and um I am very happy to be here. I have a great customer. I have a couple of customers here and um people love coming here. It was very nice people. This town is a has been, have a great things. We have a festival coming up. It's great. It's a friendly people and I am very happy to be here and family oriented too. You got your son right behind. He came from college a couple of days ago and he said he made it to the John Hopkins in Baltimore. And now, you know, he's been here for a month, then he goes back. It's Gabriel. You got so much support here, the customers behind you, you guys come here every single day. Carol and David, you guys live in Belmore. What, what keeps bringing you back? We love this deli, we love Hector, we love his son. They treat us great. This is very clean. This is a great place to have breakfast. Um starts our day. It's a great day to start our day. I'm sure the coffee is really good. I saw you guys get a refill. So I gotta try some too. We gotta wake up this morning and send it back to you in the studio. Rich. Uh Sure sounds good. It is Monday, which means we're heading out to show off some of our favorite local businesses in downtown. And this morning our main street Long Island series continues in Bellmore news swells. Jen Selig is at Island Greenery. Getting a look at how you can upgrade your space. Jen. Hey, good morning. Yes. Located right off busy. Be More Avenue and I'm sure this place has a lot of heads turning because there are so many flowers right now in bloom and so much to look at Island Greenery offers so much that sign to prove it. And with me, I got JJ, the owner of this beautiful place and talk to me about what it's like serving the community here. Good morning, good morning. Um We're very lucky and blessed to be able to serve the Belmore community and provide them with all kinds of beautiful plants. We have annuals, perennials, tropicals, seasonal. We're open year round. We have Christmas trees in the fall. Um Mums, cabbage, kale year round. There's always something here we have inside our greenhouse. We have tropical foliage, we have indoor plants year round. We are here to serve the Belmore community and you got regular customers, keep coming back, regular customers. We've seen customers grow over the year. We've seen their Children grow up. We've been here for so many years. Um This location, we've been here since 2013, but we had another location in Bellmore prior to that. So since about 2000, but we've been doing all types of work for the community. We do escape design, we do maintenance and we do paver installation also. So we have a big foothold in this thal community. That's awesome. I got to bring my friend the garden guru, Alex Kama here himself. I'm sure he probably knows about this place, but we're going to come back here and send it back to you guys in the studio. That's a great place and good to see that. Thank you, Jen. This morning. Our main street Long Island series continues. We're heading out to highlight some of our great local businesses every Monday and today we're in Bellmore. Whoo Jen Selig is at hair effects right now. Good morning, Jen. Hey, good morning Rich. This place is absolutely gorgeous. They do hair makeup. They even have a boutique here and the beautiful ladies behind the business, Cla and Stephanie and you ladies, you guys have regular customers. You guys offer a little bit of everything. Yes, we do. So we do service salon. We offer hair extensions, which we have a specialist in that. We are hair colorist. We have nails and hair color and much more things. And you ladies have been in the industry for so long, but you recently took over the salon a few years ago. Yes. So we're here. It'll be two years. Um We've taken this salon and we've grown year after year. We have a legacy that we're continuing for Tracy Spinelli and the girls are absolutely loving it. We're just so happy and we're blessed and we're honored to be a part of that and this community, I can't tell you how tight knit. This community is literally just saw you at the deli not too long ago, everybody knows each other and it makes it, it makes it so special, right? Yeah. So we definitely, it's more of a community over competition. Everybody tries to help each other out. Everybody wants everybody to succeed. We do a lot of cross motions with the avenue down the block for ladies night on Thurs days. Um Rare Violet. We're really excited for lunch Box brewery to open next door. So it's really great that everybody like comes together to try to make it a better place. He said there's gonna be a street fair next month. Yes. So at the end of um September, Belmore street fair will be happening and we love that. It's a lot of fun. We get to go out onto the street and we work side by side with uh businesses and it's really a lot of fun. We do um hair extensions on the street. We do face painting. It really brings the, the town alive. I love that. So people have to come check it out. Even if you don't live in Bellmore. It's a good idea to come down here. We're gonna stick around in town and send things back to you guys in the studio. I love to hear how business owners are supporting one another there. That is great.

It's a Monday. So we are focusing on one of Long Island's many great main streets news. Twelve's Jens Lake is in Bellmore for us this afternoon. If you're looking for a bite to eat for brunch, look no further than the twisted fork in. Be more. This is one of the newer businesses on the block on Bedford Avenue. And with me, I have the co owners I run and I have the manager Megan and look at all of this delicious food. We have everything from sweet to Avery. Can you kind of run down Megan? What we got here? Yes. So we have the avocado toast. This is the Godfather with Prosciutto Baratta, roasted tomatoes and uh smashed avocado. We have some sweet chocolate Decadence pancake. It's stuffed with brownies, topped with a chocolate drizzle. Um On the in the middle there, we have the creme brulee French toast and on the end, something else savory is our chicken and waffle sliders and this is a place that gets packed out, especially on the weekend. Very busy on Saturdays and Sundays. Usually a wait. Um It's been going really great since we opened six months ago. Um and we're very happy to be here. You guys are on the map. You were telling me that people from all over the island come here for brunch. We are getting a lot of people throughout the island, I guess because of our social media presence has helped us a lot. So that, that's been wonderful. The customers have been great and the response has been amazing. And what's the best part about having the business right here in Belmore? Belmore is a great community. Um Always have a lot of support from the local people. They love their local businesses and always support. I love it. So let's take a bite to eat. Maybe do this off camera because I know this may get a little messy and send things back to you guys in the studio.
