Long Islanders demonstrated across Long Island Wednesday in protest of the Obama administration's tax policies and the federal bailout of the financial sector.
The "tea parties" staged throughout the country were organized by conservative groups across the nation. Participants on Long Island say the protests were aimed at Democrats and Republicans.
Hundreds of marchers chanted outside the Dennison building in Hauppauge, demanding the government reduce spending. Demonstrations were also held in Massapequa and Hicksville, as well as nationwide.
