Long Islanders were preparing Thursday to battle it out - for the Fight for Charity boxing event.
This year, 19 boxers of various professions from a real estate agent to a CEO will be competing.
Organizers say over $1 million has been raised for Long Island charities. News 12’s Jamie Stuart competed as a boxer in the event in 2014.
One boxer, Shannon, says she's from Huntington and sells insurance in Massapequa when she's not in the ring. She says her boss has been a supporter of the event for years.
