Long Islanders look to aid Mexico following deadly earthquake
The search for survivors continues in Mexico today following the 7.1 magnitude earthquake.
Today, Long Islanders with family in Mexico are working to get needed supplies to the area.
Leaders from the non-profit group Adelante of Suffolk County will announce this afternoon how community members can help and donate goods and how they are getting it down to Mexico.
News 12 Long Island has learned local organizers will transport the aide to New Jersey, where it will be flown by a major international airline to those who desperately need it.
The earthquake has killed 245 people and rescuers are still combing through debris to find anyone who is trapped.
