Budget votes are happening today in all 124 Long Island school districts.
Five school districts proposed budgets that would surpass the tax cap.
Other districts will keep taxes flat or even decrease them because of a record amount of state aid set to come in.
The five districts looking to pierce the tax cap are Babylon, Wainscott, Montauk, New Suffolk and Springs.
Each of those districts will need a 60% supermajority to pass their budgets.
