You can support Long Island restaurants while getting a
great dining deal this week. It's the Fall Long Island Restaurant Week!
At Marias Mexican and Latin Cuisine, in Smithtown, start
with the soup of the day, then you can get anything from shrimp, to chicken, to
steak.
Or head up to Stony Brook Village to Mirabelle Restaurant
& Tavern at the Three Village Inn. Start with rutabaga and apple soup, then
move on to the red snapper, and finish up with apple cobbler.
Head just a little east of there to Ruvo in Port Jefferson
where you can start with Grandma D's meatballs, then try chicken gismonda -
lemon and egg-battered chicken breast, spinach, mushrooms, mozzarella, in a
tomato-pinot grigio sauce over linguine.
Long Island Restaurant Week runs through Sunday. The three courses cost $27, $37 or $44. Many restaurants also
offer a $22 two-course lunch. For the full list
