It's a great week to try a new restaurant and get a deal on a meal!
Long Island Restaurant Week is underway, and every day this week News 12 will highlight participating restaurants. Today we start in central Nassau with restaurants offering a three course meal for $35.
True Food Kitchen just opened at Roosevelt Field Mall. The restaurant is known for its healthy and anti-inflammatory eats. Its roasted Brussel sprouts, and butternut squash soup are appetizer choices on its restaurant week menu. And you can try their butternut squash pizza as a second course.
Revel in Garden City is also offering a dinner prix fixe menu. Its appetizer options include eggplant chips and avgolemono chicken soup. Choose from a number of entrees including tagliatelle tabiano made with roasted butternut squash, Brussels sprouts, sage, brown butter, crumbled Montrachet goat cheese and toasted pistachio bread crumbs. Dark chocolate peanut butter mousse is a favorite for dessert.
And at Small Batch, a locally sourced rustic American restaurant by celebrity chef Tom Colicchio, appetizer options include its cauliflower soup, braised chicken thighs with soppressata, cured olives and roasted tomatoes is an entrée favorite. Small Batch is also offering a $20 lunch prix fixe menu.
Long Island Restaurant Week runs through Sunday.
