A majority of Long Island residents polled say the quality of life on Long Island is declining.
A News 12/Hofstra poll asked Long Island residents: "Do you think the quality of life on Long Island is improving, declining or staying the same?"
About 11 percent said the quality of life is improving, while about 52 percent said the quality of life is declining. About 4 percent were undecided.
The results varied by county. Fifty-five percent of Suffolk residents polled said the quality of life is declining, compared to 48 percent of Nassau residents.
