The annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is set to be held on Oct. 20 at the Billy Jean King Tennis Stadium in Queens.

The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation has hosted the event for over 20 years in honor of FDNY firefighters who died on 9/11.

Massapequa resident Joan York's husband, Raymond, died during the rescue efforts. She participates in the event each year to remember those who lost their lives.

“It's so important that we don't forget that day, that we honor the men and women who died that day,” she said.
