More than 2,000 dressed in their finest came out Monday night to attend the Long Island Hospitality Ball in Woodbury.

The third annual event, which benefits the American Cancer Society, was held at the Crest Hollow Country Club. Those who attended sampled dishes from restaurants throughout Long Island, many of whom sponsored the event. Music was provided by various bands and DJs across the Island, including Mike Delguidice and Big Shot, featuring appearances by members of the Billy Joel Band.

The Long Island Hospitality Ball was founded in 2011 by Keith Hart, a hospitality industry mainstay and cancer survivor, whose private battle with thyroid cancer, now in remission, inspired him to go public with his mission and rally the industry to join the fight against cancer through an extraordinary evening of dining, dancing and donating.
