The Long Island Gay, Lesbian Bisexual and Transgender Services Network marked the opening of a new facility on the East End today, where people will have a chance to come together and share their experiences.

The GLBT Network is renting space at Old Whaler's Church in Sag Harbor for its new center. A ceremony today marked the opening of the new space.

On hand for the occasion was Edie Windsor, the plaintiff in the historic Supreme Court ruling that overturned a key provision of the Defense of Marriage Act.

The network says it plans to continue to rent the space until it can raise $1 million to open a state-of-the-art facility of its own.
