Firefighters were forced to battle Mother Nature in addition to a massive brush fire in Deer Park Thursday.
Officials say wind and dry conditions made the blaze particularly difficult, especially for firefighters who manned brush trucks and ventured into the heart of the fire. Firefighters drew a line in the sand as they struggled to keep the fire away from nearby houses, businesses and the Deer Park train station.
According to officials, firefighters were able to hold that line and get the fire under control.
