Long Island's last remaining duck farm is closing after a recent bird flu outbreak.
The Department of Labor says all 45 of the employees
at Crescent Duck Farm will be laid off by Valentine's Day.
The bird flu outbreak forced the Aquebogue farm, which has been around for 117 years, to euthanize its entire flock of nearly 100,000 ducks.
Over the weekend, $18,000 was raised at a fundraiser held at the North Fork Brewing Company to help out the affected employees.
