As more people battle food insecurity on Long Island, a new food pantry in Valley Stream is looking to tackle the issue head-on.
The West Nassau Center for Food Assistance & Community Support opened Tuesday with fully stocked shelves and ready to serve the community.
Long Island Cares opened the site, its 9th on Long Island, after years of work behind the scenes to make the pantry a reality.
It will be open Monday to Friday, with Tuesdays marked as Military Appreciation Days, open only to veterans and service members.
Donations are always welcome & they are seeking volunteers. For more information, click here
