Beachgoers are seeing some new warning signs when they enter Jones Beach and other Long Island state parks.
State lawmakers unveiled a new campaign Friday touting the benefits of sunscreen and offering samples to people on their way to the beach. A new law requires state beaches and parks to inform people about the dangers of the sun.
Many say they did not notice the signs and doubt anyone will get the message. Others say they are optimistic the signs will get beachgoers to think about skin cancer.
