Long Beach police are taking steps to discourage unauthorized parties on the beach that are being advertised on social media.
Police were recently tipped off after people saw a party mentioned for this weekend on social media and Snapchat.
As News 12 has reported, 2,500 people gathered in Ocean Beach park a month ago. One person was arrested for firing a gun.
"It becomes very difficult when you have people who come down and just think that it's a party," says Long Beach Police Commissioner Ron Walsh. "We love to have people come down to the city and enjoy the beach and really enjoy the city and come and have a nice time, but if you're going to come down and break the rules we're going to be here and make it much more uncomfortable than you would like."
Police say they will be out in force ticketing people and towing cars.
