Long Beach Police Commissioner Ronald Walsh has resigned following three years with the department.
Walsh also served as the acting city manager last year.
News 12 is told the commissioner is stepping down to "pursue other professional opportunities."
Long Beach City Inspector Richard DePalma will serve as acting police commissioner until a permanent replacement is named.
