Long Beach city officials say people found guilty of running illegal rooming houses can expect to pay tens of thousands of dollars in fines.
Last week, the city issued summonses for allegedly illegal group rentals at three different locations.
Official say the crackdown on illegal housing will continue throughout the summer.
