A gun loaded with 10 bullets was kept off of a flight by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers at MacArthur Airport on Sunday.
According to airport security agents, the 9 mm firearm was spotted on an X-ray of the carry-on bag of a man from Sayville.
TSA officers notified law enforcement, who allowed the man to return the firearm to his vehicle.
The man now faces a federal financial civil penalty of up to $15,000.
It's the first firearm that TSA officers have intercepted at MacArthur Airport this year.
