The Long Island Rail Road canceled at least 19 trains for Tuesday's evening rush.
The agency posted on
Twitter that the disruptions stemmed from a signal problem at the West Side Yard near Penn Station. The signal trouble was eventually resolved.
Multiple branches were affected, including Babylon, Port Washington, Long Beach and Hempstead.
Westbound service between Penn Station and Jamaica was at one point suspended but resumed after a couple of hours.
The latest train troubles came a few days after a report revealed that the LIRR's on-time performance is the worst it's been in
19 years.
