A LIRR train to Huntington partially derailed in Woodbury Thursday afternoon, but no injuries were reported.
One set of wheels on one car of the 3:27 p.m. train from Penn Station slipped off the tracks at around 4:25 p.m. The train remained upright. According to the Nassau County Office of Emergency Management, a mudslide caused by a nearby water main break was responsible for the derailment.
Service was restored on the Port Jefferson Branch hours later, but buses replaced trains between Hicksville and Huntington as crews repaired the tracks.
