Long Island Rail Road service is back on track, but with delays, after a fire at a junkyard in Westbury.
The fire broke out on Hopper Street around 5:30 a.m. in the vicinity of the railroad tracks.
Due to the fire, the Long Island Rail Road temporarily suspended service in both directions between Hicksville and Mineola, affecting the Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma branches. Service has since resumed.
