Long Island Railroad riders are in for another round of schedule changes starting today.
The MTA says some lightly used trains will no longer run and will be repurposed to provide more evening service from Penn Station.
Later today, there will also be added stops to the 4:10 p.m. and the 4:34 p.m. trains from Penn Station.
Trains that will no longer be running include the 4:21 p.m. train from Penn Station to Farmingdale. In addition, the 4:57 p.m. from Grand Central to Central Islip will no longer run.
Instead, the 4:54 p.m. from Grand Central to Ronkonkoma will make the combined stops of both trains.
The 7:14 p.m. from Penn to Ronkonkoma will also no longer be running.
News 12 has been told all the changes will support track work across the system including major work near the East River tunnels.
The MTA urges riders to double check train times on the train time app.
