The Long Island Rail Road and the MTA met with worker unions in Manhattan Monday in a final attempt to avoid a strike on the LIRR.
The Presidential Emergency Board recently requested raises over six years that would total about 17 percent, which was rejected by the MTA.
If a deal is not reached, the unions could begin striking in July.
The meeting with the LIRR comes only a few days after a tentative agreement was reached between the MTA and city subway and bus workers.
Both the MTA and the unions offered no comment after the meeting. They are under a gag order by the presidential board.
