In anticipation of this weekend?s Subway Series in Queens, the Long Island Rail Road has increased its service to Shea Stadium.
Both Mets and Yankees fans on the Island are geared up for the three-game series. But with big crowds expected, the LIRR is urging fans to hop on the train instead of driving.
The traffic at the stadium is expected to be a nightmare due to the construction and closing of 2,100 parking spaces.
The extra service will run all weekend. Trains on the Port Washington branch will also stop at Shea two hours before game time.
