The Long Island Rail Road says repairs have been completed following a broken rail in Mineola that resulted in delays and some cancellations during the morning commute.
The broken rail happened just east of the Mineola station, causing widespread delays on the Port Jefferson, Ronkonkoma and Oyster Bay lines.
The LIRR says they are now back on or close to schedule systemwide.
This morning, commuters were seen waiting for trains that passed them by, while railroad workers tried to help them figure out which trains to get on.
Officials say it is not clear what caused the broken rail.
