The Long Island Rail Road is back on track after a power problem stranded thousands of commuters Tuesday.
According to officials, two LIRR trains got stuck in the East River Tunnel because of an Amtrak-related power failure. The trains were carrying about 1,000 commuters.
The power outage caused delays of three hours or more for some riders, due to the tunnel being blocked.
In addition, dozens of east and westbound trains had to be diverted to other stations or terminated at Jamaica.
The incident yesterday is the latest of many service disruptions near Penn Station over recent months.
Amtrak, who owns and maintains the area of the problems, has announced summer track work it says will help fix the aging infrastructure.
