The Long Island Rail Road is back on track after a tractor-trailer collided with a train near the Bethpage station during the evening commute Tuesday, causing delays.
The incident occurred at around 5:30 p.m. It appeared that the CVS truck was partially parked on the tracks, trying to back into the nearby CVS when the crossing arm came down. The truck was then sideswiped by an oncoming train.
There was no word on injuries.
The collision caused several delays for rail commuters and backed up traffic in the area. The LIRR train has been moved and service has been restored.
The Ronkonkoma train was headed westbound when the incident occurred. Commuters are urged to check LIRR's social media and website for scheduling changes.
