The Long Island Rail Road is back on track after two different accidents involving cars.
Officials say a train hit a vehicle on Ponquogue Avenue in Hampton Bays last night just before 9 p.m.
The driver was trying to make U-turn when the car was hit by an equipment train, officials say. No injuries were reported.
About 45 minutes later, officials say a train struck a car on Little East Neck Road near Pinelawn station in Wyandanch. The car was empty at the time.
Police say the driver was using their GPS when they ended up on the track. No one was injured in the crash.
