The Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) confirms that it is under contract to purchase the site of the former Country Fair Entertainment Park in Medford.
PSEG Long Island says it has worked with the town of Brookhaven and the Medford Taxpayers and Civic Associate on a proposed site plan to construct a Medford Operations Center.
It says it received the necessary approvals from the Central Pine Barrens Joint Planning and Policy Commission in December.
The property will be used for a new centralized operational center to enhance response times and the quality of service in the Brookhaven area.
