(09/29/06) UNIONDALE - The Long Island Power Authority (LIPA) will soon announce possible winter billing cuts, LIPA chairman Richard Kessel said Friday.
Kessel told News 12 Long Island he expects to make an announcement within two weeks regarding winter billing. Kessel says there may be an opportunity to lower homeowners? expenses. This comes on the heels of news from KeySpan Thursday that rates would increase by 10 percent, despite declining market prices for natural gas.
Residents say a price cut could not come soon enough, with some claiming to have energy bills of more than $400.
