A Lindenhurst teen is paving the path for other young women by becoming the first female Eagle Scout from Troop 1421.

Lindenhurst High School senior Vanessa Danese received high honor for her Eagle Project where she installed bat houses along a waterway in Lindenhurst village to save and protect the animals.

Danese's official Court of Honor will take place June 17 at the Moose Lodge.
