After-school activities at Lindenhurst High School were moved or canceled Monday in response to a threatening drawing found at the school weeks ago.
District officials say the drawing indicated a threat against the school principal and the date May 13. A letter was sent home notifying parents of the drawing. School athletics were moved to neighboring schools for Monday and Tuesday and other activities were canceled.
Some students say it does not make sense for administrators to allow them to attended classes in the building, but not attend after-school activities there.
The school superintendent says the response plan was put into effect immediately after the threatening drawing was found. District officials say the student responsible was found, but that it was too late to cancel the emergency plans they had made.
