An area in Lindenhurst prone to flooding has once again become a headache for nearby homeowners.
News 12 returned to the area near Granada Parkway and Walnut Place where local homeowner Keith McDonough says the problem has only gotten worse.
"This corner gets flooded out bad, but then it sits there for days and days. It takes at least five days for it to go away," says McDonough.
Another homeowner says contractors will not work on his home since his property has been flooded.
Town officials told News 12 in a statement that the drainage in the area was installed in the 1950s and is unable to handle all of the water.
They say they are finalizing plans with engineers and the state Department of Environmental Conservation to upgrade the drainage system.
In the meantime, the town says it has been sending pump trucks to the area in an effort to alleviate the problem.
