Lindenhurst resident Linda Gallo and her 42 cats are now homeless after her landlord sites two months missed rent.
Gallo had been living at her South First Street apartment for the last five years. During that time, she never turned down a stray cat, collecting 42 in total. Although Gallo was unemployed and on disability, she dedicated her time to the care of the cats, getting them all neutered and sprayed. Now, Gallo is forced to find a new home for herself and her critters. Her landlord is claiming the reason for the eviction is the missed rent, not the cats.
However, as Gallo packed up to move out, she had plenty of help from her family and friends, along with the SPCA who say they appreciate the care she has given the animals. The building?s landlord is suing her for the missing rent money. Gallo is suing him for personal property damage due to a leaky roof.
