The lights are shining once again at Port Jefferson's Theatre Three after nearly 16 months of being closed.
The 15th annual Long Island Comedy Festival kicked off Friday at the theater on Main Street.
"The comedy festival was a no brainer for a reopening," says Jeffrey Sanzel, of Theatre Three. "It's time that everybody can come in relax have a good time."
Comedian Paul Anthony started the festival back in 2006. Anthony says a majority of comedians couldn't wait to toss aside the Zoom shows and perform live.
"It was very challenging and not as much fun as you would think and nothing can replace a live performance," says Anthony.
Another show is scheduled for Saturday.
