The Lighthouse Mission distributed free Thanksgiving goods in Central Islip Wednesday to more than 100 Long Islanders in need.

Organizers say the number of people who wait for free turkeys and other fixings continues to grow each year.

Families who spoke to News 12 said they were grateful for the mission's generosity during their time of need.

With Thanksgiving just over a week away, Lighthouse Mission officials say they are in desperate need of turkeys to hand out. The organization will be holding a food drive in Holbrook this coming weekend.
