As travelers get set for the holiday getaway, they will notice that gas will cost 8 cents more per gallon to fill up on Long Island than it did a month ago.

The price of regular gas is about $3.68.

For those looking to avoid traffic on the roads, News 12 advises viewers who are flying for the holidays to check with their carrier before heading to the airport. After hundreds of cancellations and delays yesterday, there are still scattered delays today in Chicago, Denver, Houston and Dallas.

Also, the LIRR is adding 13 extra eastbound trains this afternoon to get holiday travelers to their Christmas Eve destinations.
