(AP) - A ferry shuttling passengers to the Statue of Liberty has made a hard landing at a pier, but there are no serious injuries reported.

The accident happened Tuesday afternoon as the Miss New Jersey ferry was heading into Liberty Island. There were 497 passengers and nine crew members aboard.

U.S. Coast Guard spokeswoman Jetta Disco says three people suffered minor injuries but refused medical treatment.

The Statue Cruises vessel was held at Liberty Island.

Disco says Coast Guard investigators will test crew members for drugs and alcohol and look for possible environmental or mechanical problems that may have led to the hard landing.

There's no pollution spilled into the water, and the vessel isn't taking on any water.

A message left with Statue Cruises hasn't been returned.
