Jamie Isaacs, 15, had been taunted and harassed for years, but now the Lake Grove teen is on a mission to eliminate bullying altogether. Isaacs has testified before the Suffolk County Legislature and is expected to do the same in Albany next year to push an anti-cyber-bullying law. Isaacs is not alone. Many Long Island students say the classroom has become a scary place filled with name-calling and abuse. The teen says the abuse she experienced continued after school on the Internet, but soon, cyber-bullying could be equated to stalking in the eyes of the law. The proposed legislation would also mean that someone triggering a suicide through cyber-bullying could face manslaughter charges. "I'm hoping this new law will make kids think about what they are going to say to people," Isaacs says.
