High School students across Long Island are expressing outrage after the College Board announced a technical glitch had underrated thousands of SAT scores.
College Board officials say scores were off as much as 400 points for approximately 4,000 students. Hofstra University officials say they received 141 incorrect scores from applications for next year, ranging from 10 to 140 points lower than the applicant actually earned.
The College Board is offering scoring services from $10 to $100 to ensure a score is correct. Many students say it is unfair to pay more money to receive scores that were already paid for. School officials recommend taking the test again and, if scores vary dramatically, contacting the College Board.
