Loved ones are remembering a Long Island hero who made history with the Tuskegee Airmen in World War II.

Family members tell News 12 Lee Hayes died Wednesday.

The East Hampton man made history as one of the first African-American bomber pilots. Hayes was 91 years old.



Hayes' military funeral will be Monday at Calverton National Cemetery.
