A North Bellmore man accused of soliciting teens to appear in adult films was arraigned Monday. According to police, Andrew Quattrone, 26, approached three girls who were walking home from school last Tuesday. He allegedly asked a 14-year-old girl by Mepham High School if she wanted to be a model and then offered cash for sex. Police say Quattrone also approached a 12- and 13-year-old in Westbury and asked if they wanted to make an adult movie.Quattrone was arrested after two of the girls he allegedly approached were able to give police his license plate number. Cops say they believe Quattrone may have victimized other children. ?Very disturbing though, if it's all true,? says neighbor Cheryl Levy of the allegations. ?We have young children too, so it's very, very frightening.?
Quattrone faces three counts of attempted use of a child in a sex performance and endangering the welfare of a child.According to authorities, Quattrone was also arrested in October 2008 on a weapons possession charge involving a switchblade. He was also arrested on drug charges in 2006.
Quattrone is due back in court March 25. He also has a court date scheduled for next week on the weapons charge.
