Police say an Inwood man turned himself in to police Tuesday morning after allegedly trying to set his girlfriend on fire after a fight last week.

According to authorities, the argument between 31-year-old Danny Gonzales and his girlfriend turned violent and escalated outside her Inwood home.

Once outside, Gonzalez allegedly threw gasoline on her and attempted to ignite it by tossing a lit cigarette. She only suffered a slight burn and was able to escape to a neighbor?s house and called 911, police say.

Gonzales is charged with arson, attempted murder and other charges. Police say it wasn?t the first time they were called to the home for a domestic violence incident.
